The Office for National Statistics have released data showing details about online job adverts in the UK. The details below are extracted from the release. For more information follow the link below.
“In August 2024, there were a similar number of online job adverts to the UK average in Cornwall. In August 2024, the number of live job adverts in Cornwall rose to 3.0 per 100 working-age residents (aged 16 to 64 years), from 2.2 adverts in August 2023. This was similar to the UK average of 3.4 in August 2024.
In 2023, 47% of job adverts in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly could have been filled by local people
Care workers and home carers were the most commonly advertised jobs in Cornwall. In Quarter 2 (April to June) 2024, adverts for care workers and home carers made up 3.9% of all live adverts in Cornwall, the highest percentage of any single occupation.
Meanwhile, the occupation that saw demand rise the most over the year in Cornwall was chefs. Adverts for chefs made up 3.7% of all live adverts in in Quarter 2 (April to June) 2024, an increase of 1.6 percentage points from the same period in 2023.”
