Changes in housing tenure in Cornwall

Data from the Office for National Statistics provides estimates of the total number of dwellings in Cornwall broken down by tenure. ONS point out that comparing the 2022 and 2023 figures with earlier years is problematical. Therefore the changes in the table below are indicative only.

The data suggests that while total dwelling numbers increased between 2012 and 2023 by 11.4%, the largest percentage increase was for private rented at 14.3%, while social rent increased by 11.4% and owned by 10.5%.
